Recipes: Krumkake

Norwegian Krumkake is one of my favorite treats and we make it at Christmas. This is only my second time as the lead, meaning I controlled the stove iron, and it was actually more fun than I expected. My daughter took over my previous position(far better than I ever executed) of rolling warm, flat cookie around a wooden cone and holding in place as it cools. It is not hard but tricky as timing is everything. It took me a few tries to get the heat just right as not to burn or undercook. Krumkake can be made using an electric iron, however, I think the cone tastes better when it is papery thin and that can only be executed with stove iron. Enjoy.

Note: I suggest making Krumkake when you are feeling fresh…not when you are tired.
