Photographs: A New Pretty
We had fun collecting different bottles and jars that would normally be recycled, removing labels, and cleaning prior to decorating. A group of old perfume and cologne bottles were perfect for repurposing but as we screwed off the tops they cracked. Some old candles that had burned out wicks were melted and used to seal rough edges of broken glass. The wax had a subtle scent that added to the beauty of the’ new pretty’ vases. We decided to add wax to the mouth of all of the jars and bottles, finishing with string or ribbon and a note.
