The Breton Stripe or Mariniere has had a long history and one that roots itself from the French Navy uniform. The beauty of this stripe is that it can be worn so many different ways and with many trends applied. One of these stripe knits I purchased over twenty years ago on a trip to Paris. As it is a classic, maybe even a staple, I still love it and bonus it has become sooo soft.
